Joe Gyourko

Professor Gyourko has served as the Director of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School and is past Chair of Wharton’s Real Estate Department. He served as a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and he also serves as the Co-Director of the NBER Project on Housing Markets and the Financial Crisis. Prof. Gyourko is a past editor of the journal Real Estate Economics, and he served two prior terms as a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), where he remains a Full Member. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), and is an active consultant and advisor to various real estate companies that invest or lend in the public and private equity and debt markets. Prof. Gyourko received his B.A. from Duke University and a Ph.D in economics from the University of Chicago.
